Speaking on the occasion, he elaborated on how climate change has evolved from a future concern into a present-day developmental crisis. He highlighted that children, pregnant women, the elderly, and vulnerable sections of society are bearing the brunt of this impact. In particular, the dual challenge of extreme heat and water scarcity is placing an additional burden on women and girls. He noted that a state-level climate consultation meeting was organized in Rajasthan for the first time in 2023, bringing together various government departments, technical institutions, and development partners to discuss the emerging climate risks facing the state. This initiative strengthened inter-departmental coordination and fostered a shared strategy for climate adaptation. He urged journalists to give prominence to these issues in their reporting.
Mr. Rushabh Himani, WASH Specialist at UNICEF Rajasthan, addressed a workshop held at the Constitution Club in Jaipur on World Environment Day.
