He highlighted that, in the health sector, UNICEF has collaborated with the Department of Medical and Health to support the implementation of the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health. Under this initiative, District Climate Change and Human Health Programmes have been established across all districts of the state; these programs are ensuring the identification and monitoring of climate-related health risks as well as improved coordination during disasters. In the education sector, UNICEF has partnered with the School Education Department to develop a heatwave teaching module for government schools. Through this initiative, students and teachers are being sensitized to the causes of extreme heat, associated illnesses, preventive measures, water conservation, and environmental protection. He urged the media to prioritize these critical issues in their coverage to ensure the message reaches the general public.
